Hey everyone! Can you believe it’s June already? I feel like time has been flying by over the past few weeks. We have been doing some more planning for our trip, and we have set our tentative leaving date to August 5th. We will drive to Colorado, where we will spend a day or two with a friend, and then head off to San Francisco, where we will stay another day or two before flying out of San Jose on the 15th. We have a lot of planning to do for the road trip still, but we have a general idea of where we will go and where we will stay. So, that leaves us with less than two months!! I can’t believe we are within the two month mark already. It is excited and scary at the same time, but, as we always say, we will figure everything out.
Meanwhile, Zev’s birthday is coming up on June 12th! He will be 7. For the sake of keeping things simple, we have decided that Lexi will share June 12th as her birthday. That way, they can both enjoy some special treats together. John and I got two big new antlers for them today, and some surprise treats for their birthday day. They were VERY excited for new antlers, and half of one is gone already! Lexi is chewing away as I type, keeping herself occupied for hours.
Lexi is doing well weight-wise. I haven’t been to the vet to weigh her in a while, but she visibly looks more filled-out:
She is much less rib-y than a few months ago, or even a few weeks ago. Her feet are STILL a bit of a mess, though, and I think I will contact Dr. Tapp, her dermatologist, this week about putting her back on a round of antibiotics. Her back feet just won’t heal up, even though she is still on prednisone. Her pads are a bit swollen and raw, and she bleeds from between her toes occasionally. I would really like to get her feet in the best shape possible before we leave for Hawaii! I know we may struggle with her allergy-related foot issues for some time, but I know we can get her to a better place at least.
Otherwise, not much else is new. I will be sure to take lots of pictures on Wednesday for the big birthday day! I hope you all are well. Hugs and kisses from Lexi and Zev!
